CTRL-ATL-DTL review

"With humorous confrontation, CTRL-ATL-DTL serves up a thought provoking dish"

CTRL-ATL-DTL is a one woman show-come-mission, taking a bitter-sweet look at the political establishment, police and press from the perspective of Brixton girl caught up in the 2011 London riots.

With lyrics such as 'the definition of political shouldn't be hypocritical' and references to the Mendes murder of 2005 (outside her local Stockwell tube station), we trawl though a journey of domestic abuse, heart-wrenching questions and determined passion – that wins out in the end.

With humorous confrontation, CTRL-ATL-DTL serves up a thought provoking dish – all set to a background of '90s R&B.

Emma Packer, in this production, certainly does a good job of turning cliches on their head.

A recommended see – due to run at the Edinburgh Festival next month (August 1-24).
